Poprzedni wpis rozkomentarzył się długaśnie, raz inspirująco, raz irytująco... Najwżyszy więc czas zamknąć i zacząć od nowa. Wciąż nie wszystko zostało jednak powiedziane. Margo zapytała, skąd się wzięła liczba pi. W pierwszym odruchu chciałem w odpowiedzi wykpić się wpisem z wikipedii, bo takie trivia są wikipedii specjalnością.
Ale znalazłem sieciową odpowiedź mniej trywialną. Rzekłbym - nawet zajmującą. Piosenkę, parafrazę znanego amerykańskiego przeboju "American Pie" [3]. Kto jak kto, ale blueslover najbardziej by się nadawał, by coś o przeboju powiedzieć. Niniejszym rozgłaszam, że blueslover wrócił, choć zły czemuś - pomoc potrzebna.
Może nawet przetłumaczyłby słówko "pie" na polski? Do tej pory nie widziałem ani jednego zadowalającego tłumaczenia. Podejrzewam, że nie ma. No, niby "ciasto"... ale jak by to brzmiało? "Ciasto, ciasto, amerykańskie ciasto"? - Totalne bałwaństwo! "Apple pie" - Piotr Gillert, amerykański komentator Rzepy, tłumaczył jako "szarlotka". Auć! Ale jaki miał wybór?
"Pie" wymawia się tak samo jak "pi". Nie dziwota wiec, że wcześniej czy później fonetyczna koincyndencja popchnęła kogoś do stworzenia parafrazy. Oto ona (pełny tekst w odnośniku [1]), przy okazji bardzo smacznie odpowiadająca na pytanie Margo:
